How To Practice The Art Of Not Giving A DAMN

According to author Mark Manson, this is a counterintuitive approach to living a good life, so that you can focus on what really matters. Well let me start by saying, the moment I stopped caring what others thought and focused on what mattered to me—was the moment I became a free thinking—-happy with life girl. Now don’t get me wrong, I have ups and downs. However, I am speaking of majority of the time where I am pleased with where I am in life.

You don’t have a tomorrow. I know some of you think you do—but reality doesn’t lie. Life is short so why put energy into things that are pointless. I truly don’t understand what use that does on the human mind or physical body. More like stress to me. Often times we focus on things that don’t really matter to later on have regrets. If you were on your dying bed, what would you be thinking about? Maybe, you would you reminisce on the trips you didn’t take, the people you didn’t hug or the career change that you didn’t make?? So with that thought in mind, focus on what is in front of you that you find important.

Learn to say NO. You know there are people who like to push their dreams and aspirations down my throat without any regards as to whether or not I am truly interested. I always shake my head at these people because they don’t seem to know any better. It’s as if they are telling me what I should care about. For example, I know this lady who keeps trying to invite me to join her business—after I told her I am not interested. Plus, I make it very clear that my focus and dream is solely my blog and how I can expand it. But she refuses to hear me—so now I ignore her and I know she’s pissed. Oh well! And I feel empowered ignoring her because she does not value my time nor what’s important to me. This is the mindset you have to approach people with when they are subtly trying to tell you how to live your life. Not everyone will like your newfound attitude, but trust me they will quietly respect you afterwards.

Time Is Limited. And I do not have the patience to deal with nonsense. When I used to deeply care about what others thought was when I exhausted so much energy. OMG I found myself so stressed and consumed my thoughts of those negative experiences. It’s not a pleasant feeling. All that time I wasted: I could’ve been doing other important things. So please FOCUS on the positive experiences as much as you can so that you can get the things done—such as the things in life that matters most—TO YOU.
