How To Get RID Of Self-Doubt

When you think, you hesitate. And a doubt is just a thought. As a result, you start to overanalyze your ideas which caused that doubt. Instead of looking inside, we seek outside approval from people or things that don’t really matter. Then we begin to compare ourselves to others and think their lives are more interesting. Am I right or wrong? So let’s discuss ways to get rid of that self doubt and turn it into self confidence.

1) Start With Awareness- I always start with self in most of my writing because that’s the biggest enemy. Stop being your worst critic and learn to silence your inner self sometimes. Don’t be frightened of the idea of growing and achieving better. Be more afraid of not taking risks or living a life you might regret.

2) Put Yourself First- the letter “I” comes before the letter “U” in the alphabet. (read that again) It’s okay to please others, but while taking care of yourself first. If you are sick, can you help your child who is also sick? No, it will be very difficult and I think you get the point.

3) Stop Seeking Approval From Others- are they paying your bills? Look at it from that perspective. Until someone is taking care of you, they should not have any say in how you live your life. Stop looking for people to like you or believe in you. People will find a reason not to like you, so what’s the point? Be confidant in who you are and watch you attract the right source of people who genuinely care.

4) Ignore Being Ridiculed- when you have more critics than fans, give yourself a clap!!!! That means you are standing up for something greater in life and going the extra mile. Just remember you will form a genuine connection with the right people who are meant to cheer for you. So keep rocking!

5) Talk with a trusted friend or family member- when I am not able to make sense of things, I talk to my bff or my sister to help with clarity. And I chose them because they understand because there is no point in talking to people who cannot understand where you are coming from. When trying to get your mind back to reality, talking to someone else helps.

6) Don’t take things too personally- oh boy do I know this one all too well. I had to learn that what people said about me had nothing to do with me. It was a reflection of how they felt about themselves.

7) Change Your Perspective- self-doubt is negative, so that negativity will always manifest into reality if we let it. I know it’s easier said than done, but with practice makes perfect. Before going to bed, try to think of positive things that happened throughout the day to help with changing the negative thinking into positive.
